FAQs

Why did First Baptist Church Jacksonville start a Ministry Training Center?

The story of First Baptist Church Jacksonville is one that unmistakably demonstrates God’s grace, both in the revitalization of its current ministry and in the gifted ministry leaders that God has brought to shepherd this church. The Ministry Training Center is an extension of the equipping efforts already taking place at FBC to serve others outside and also within our church.

Who is the First Baptist Center for Ministry Training aiming to serve?

We aim to serve aspiring pastors currently enrolled in seminary or college, established pastors already serving in full-time ministry, and also our own church members presently ministering at First Baptist Jacksonville. Anyone desiring more immersive training in a local church context for the purpose of greater effectiveness for the church.

What programs or events are available to participant in the Ministry Training Center?

The First Baptist Center for Ministry Training launched with a Weekend Workshop that allows participants to select a track that focuses on their specific ministry interest and learn in a cohort style interaction over a weekend. We are in active discussions to explore what other future programs the Center might host that include more immersive residential options.

Can I receive any seminary credit for participation in the First Baptist Center for Ministry Training?

Several seminaries are eager to partner with us to offer credits for their degrees. We are still currently working out those details. If you want to inquire about what might be available in your situation, please email [email protected].

How do I get more information about how to be involved in the Ministry Training Center?

Check out the website! New information will be added periodically. We’d also love to invite you to apply for our January Weekend Workshop. Any additional questions can be directed to the Director of the Ministry Training Center: Email Richard Lucas.
